		Diorio Collection 1979 Blackberry & Blossoms Paperweight

						This beautiful 1979 "Blackberry and Blossoms Paperweight" from the Diorio Collection is 2 3/4" in diameter, and illustrates the plant's growing cycle. The blackberries, blossoms, and buds together with serrated green veined leaves exemplify the detail and originality of Stankard's early flameworked colored glass inclusions. This delicate design is encased in fine quality crystal. It has a black and white "S" cane, and is marked "13/75 A745 1979." It is also signed by Paul J. Stankard. This paperweight is documented on page 65 of the book Paul J. Stankard Homage to Nature by Ulysses Grant Dietz. This paperweight is an important piece for the serious Stankard collector.
